We read this book and it worked great for getting the students to notice the things they were wondering. Bear hears a sound that wakes him while he is beginning to hibernate and the students instantly started raising their hands to question what the sound was and where it came from. Bear then runs into several other animals that he helps out and they begin to follow him. The students then wondered why they were following Bear wherever he went.
